Heaven and Earth (2008)

"Heaven and Earth: The visions of Hildegard of Bingen" is the center-piece of a Bingen-triptich. Part one is "Naked water", a rather abstract movie about birth and the essence of life. The last part, "Ascension" deals with the "flowing light" as a transforming aspect of life's ending. All this as seen from a mystical point of view, of course, as we are dealing here with the world of mediaeval abdis, herbalist and visionary Hildegard of Bingen (1098 - 1179).

"Heaven and Earth" is also a critical look on today's world, as the human body has changed from the material bearer of the soul into soulless material for the plastc surgeons... A former portal to the universe now used for the boring pseudo-porn-passions of an uninspired society.

The movie features the original drawings of Hildegard's visions together with paintings and objects by Yvonne Struys. Mystical advisor was Frans Spakman. Movie nr 91 (2008).
