RETURN

The Staatsliedenkwartier in Zeist (Utrecht, the Netherlands) was, at least in 1974, dominated bij three appartment-blocks: one moderate, one small, and one tiny in size. The movie is a 3-minute impression of the architecture and it's inhabitants on black-and-white 16 mm film that was transformed into red-and-white 16 mm film using the same dye with which his mother tried to make old sheets and clothing look new again.

Used music: "Oidipous" (opus 293, 1986), a piece written for the play "Laios" of the Werkteater Amsterdam. It was released on the album "Muziek voor Leven en Dood" (2008, Enfant Terrible).
